President

Lexy Buchannan
As CMAS President, I want to build a team of executives who collaborate and communicate with ease.
Implement:
Monthly discussion-style executive meetings to discuss our progress as a team and where we can improve
At a minimum, semesterly check-ins with each individual executive to offer an opportunity for them to discuss their goals/feelings/struggles with their role
Foster an environment where:
Executives feel safe to communicate with each other, asking for help when needed and holding each other accountable
Executives feel respected and seen by each other, and that their time and efforts are valued
The executive team can work together to solve issues
Allow executives to:
Grow in their role, whether that be via their portfolio or personally
Build/build on personal skills that will help them in future engineering society roles and/or in their future careers
Vice President Internal

Olivia Hall
Hey! I am currently CMAS’s Vice President Finance and I am running for Vice President Internal (VPI) for the 2026-2027 year! As First Year Rep and VP Finance, I have not only gained a deep knowledge of the workings of CMAS and its team, but a genuine care for the impact the society has on undergraduate students.
CMAS’s VPI is concerned with the management of the executive team and organizing the society’s meetings. In order to better understand the role, I have spoken to previous VPIs and consulted with members of the current executive team and membership. With this information in mind, I have ultimately decided to run my campaign with the slogan “Accountable and Transparent.” If I am elected, I plan to ensure that these tenets are central to the actions I take as VPI.
Foremost, accountability. CMAS’s primary objective, and mine by extension, is always to serve its member base. To continue to pursue accountability, I will help the executive team set up clear goal setting and task management procedures. This consists of working with the previous executive team to implement a goal and task monitoring spreadsheet accessible to all executives with clear and defined task deadlines. I will also schedule recurring meetings with executives to check up on their progress and ensure that they feel supported and capable of meeting these goals. Finally, I will ensure that an accountability officer is appointed well before September and is equipped with the skills and resources necessary to complete their duties.
Furthermore, I will champion collaboration between members of the executive team to ensure smooth functioning of the society as a whole. This will come in the form of the creation and management of sub-committees for events, initiatives and other services. I will also advocate for the hiring of coordinators in order to reduce individual workloads and open CMAS to as many people as possible.
Second, transparency. I will advocate for consistent transparency from the executive team to the member base but also between executive portfolios, such that everyone is up to date on the state of the society and its projects. I will ensure that meetings are run as informatively and succinctly as possible and I will work to simplify communication within the executive team and to members.
CMAS has and will always be extremely important to me because it was my introduction to the Carleton Engineering community and all of the lovely positions I have held, including EngFrosh Sponsorship, CMAS First Year Rep and Vice President Finance. I have a strong understanding of CMAS’s goals and its internal structure and that this knowledge would equip me with the ability to manage a strong and effective executive team. I hope you will consider voting for me for Vice President Internal so that I can continue to dedicate myself and guide CMAS’s team towards our core mission: to advocate for, serve and uplift undergraduate students.

Khaled Ghannoum
My name is Khaled Ghannoum, and I’m running to be your next Vice President Internal for the 2026-2027 Societal Year. As someone who’s passionate about community, communication, and accountability, I want to strengthen the internal connection between all parts of CMAS, from the executive council to the volunteers who make things happen.
Next year, I’ll be on co-op in Ottawa, which means I’ll be close to campus with the time and flexibility to fully dedicate myself to this role. The VP Internal’s job revolves around ensuring smooth communication, supporting the team, and upholding the Constitution and Handbook that define how our Society runs. I intend to approach these responsibilities with transparency, consistency, and a people-first mindset.
From my experience this year as Events Director, I learned what strong teamwork really looks like. My co-director and I worked hard to plan engaging, well-run events that brought our community together, and through that, I interacted with members across all years and disciplines. It taught me how to listen, coordinate, and take initiative—all skills I’ll bring to the VP Internal position.
If elected, my main goals will be:
1. Building support and collaboration within the executive team: I plan to implement regular 2‑on‑1 check‑ins between the President, myself, and each Executive or Director. These meetings would focus on identifying what support they need, what’s working well, and what new ideas they’d like to bring forward. This will help ensure every Councillor feels heard and empowered, while keeping the team aligned with CMAS’s objectives.
2. Maintaining accountability and balance: As VP Internal, I will ensure our executive team stays on track with their portfolios. When responsibilities slip, I want to address it in a fair and constructive way—early communication and support before issues escalate. CMAS only functions at its best when every Councillor holds themselves and each other accountable, and I’m prepared to take a proactive lead on that.
I consider myself a people’s person, I genuinely enjoy talking to others, hearing their ideas, and finding common ground. The VP Internal’s strength lies in fostering communication and community trust, and that’s where I thrive most. I’m approachable, organized, and dedicated to helping the team succeed together.
CMAS has given me a lot over these past years, a sense of belonging, professional growth, and a great group of friends. Now, I want to give back by helping shape an Executive Council that’s cohesive, communicative, and confident in its goals.
And of course, most importantly I can cook for a large group of people.
Thank you for considering me for Vice President Internal. I’d be honoured to serve and support you all next year.

Liz Antifave
My name is Liz, and I am a fourth-year Aerospace Engineering student running for the position of CMAS VP Internal. Outside of the classes, I am a rock climbing and hiking enthusiast who loves a good nap on the CMAS couch. I am running for VP Internal because I believe the strength of CMAS lies in its internal culture and the structural integrity of its governing documents. My primary objective is to evolve our internal team philosophy into one that is intentionally welcoming and accessible to all members. To a achieve this, I will focus on improving the office culture, providing more opportunities for team bonding and check-ins, as well as reviewing the society’s supporting documentation to better reflect the current year’s goals.
1) Office Culture:
To begin, I believe the CMAS office should serve as an inviting space to study and hang out with friends regardless of how ‘involved’ a member is. My goal is for newcomers to feel more welcome spending time in CMAS studying, attending in societal events and participating in meetings. While our executive team is high-performing, I recognize that internal dynamics can sometimes feel intimidating to those outside the immediate team. As VP Internal, I will work to dismantle these cultural divides by providing more guidance and training on how to behave within the CMAS office as an executive with the goal of ensuring members feel as much a part of CMAS as the executive team.
2) Internal Teamwork:
We saw great success with our executive training this year, and I intend to carry that momentum forward, however, team bonding needs to be a more continuous effort to ensure a friendly and cohesive working environment. Furthermore, I will implement ongoing internal one-on-ones with accountability feedback as identifying and addressing points of friction within the team early will make conflicts easier to mitigate before they escalate. Building on this, I will continue using the summer executive training of this past year, but I will emphasize more inter-positional collaboration and have check-ins with each position throughout the year to ensure they feel supported by the team.
3) Reviewing Documentation:
The CMAS Handbook requires attention to remain functional based on the proposed changes to be ratified at our annual general meeting. Furthermore, With the growth of the Mechatronics program, I will ensure that the new positions are fully integrated into our internal structure and appropriately represented in all societal proceedings. I will conduct a comprehensive update of the CMAS Handbook to include the new Mechatronics positions as well as correct references to constitution sections that have shifted numerically.
Overall, by focusing on creating a welcoming office culture, improving team relations, and updating our governing documents, as VP Internal, I will make sure that CMAS is not just a society, but a space where every volunteer feels valued, every executive feels empowered, and every member feels welcome.
Vice President External

Nick Legere
My name is Nick Legere, and I am excited to run for Vice President External of CMAS next academic year. For so many people, CMAS is more than a regular student organization; it is a place where they feel comfortable, seeking help when they need it, whether professional or academic. It is a place that delivers on the needs and expectations of the students we exist for. As your VP External, my platform would maintain the aid that the society has given to the membership for over 20 years; however, I intend to implement changes that I believe would create numerous new opportunities.
One of my goals for my platform would be to better familiarize students with the options that their degree can offer them for future employment and the research they may be conducting in those positions. I will facilitate this by working with the MAAE faculty to conduct monthly research talks, in which students can listen to and observe actual research that is being done by professional engineers. I would additionally encourage the speakers to promote any open research positions to those in attendance, so that any interested students could have potential employment opportunities as research assistants.
Equally, I plan to strengthen our bond with ASHRAE by collaborating on more joint activities between our organizations. For example, I will continue to plan and run the CMAS-ASHRAE Career Fair; however, I want to start sponsoring some of the membership to attend the monthly networking dinners that ASHRAE hosts. If I am elected, I will correspond with their representatives to try to involve our society in as many joint opportunities as possible to give the membership as much professional and networking experience as possible.
Finally, I plan to continue providing support to the CMAS Publications and Events Directors, however I want to increase accountability in these positions, especially regarding the events committee. Next year, I want to maintain exec participation in the events committee to relieve some of the events director’s workload, therefore leading to faster planning periods for events, which could then increase the quantity of events run throughout the year. Additionally, I want to hire an events secretary to keep the minutes at the events committee meeting and send them to the necessary people. I believe I am a good candidate for this position because I have experience as the CMAS Events Director, which consequently means that I have worked alongside publications enough to understand the requirements for the position. I believe I can effectively mentor the incoming execs until they are comfortable working on their own.
As I have not experienced all that this position has to offer, I believe that, as the years go on, I will use my knowledge and experience in the position to continuously implement policies and ideas that help the membership. If you have liked what I have said, please vote for me for VP External. I would really appreciate it.
Vice President Services

Abigale Cooper
Hi, my name is Abby and as you can probably tell, I am running to be the CMAS VP Services for the 2026-2027 executive term. I am currently a second year AERO C student and have been part of CMAS for both years of my university career, first as Jr. Pubs and currently as Publications director. I love this community and being in the role of VP Services will allow me to further give back and support fellow students.
As VP Services, my most important job is to maintain the supply of necessary service items to ensure the members of the society always have access to the resources that they pay for. I love grocery shopping. I am a PC optimum point warrior and will make sure the office always has milk, coffee, tea, and all the other goodies we provide. I will also work closely with technical to ensure we always have our printer services up and running as that is a very important service that benefits the engineering community.
Another large aspect of Services is to ensure the upkeep of the office, and since starting my campaign I have been dreaming of doing an office purge. I will hire a team that will maintain the organization and cleanliness of the office. This team will help maintain the office, decorate for holidays, update the monthly calendar, and work on new merch. This will also allow more students to join our team and get more people involved in the community.
I hope I can count on your vote to be VP Services for the 2026-2027 executive term!
Events Director

Callum Hannah
I plan on running many engaging and fun events to help keep the Carleton Eng community involved and together!
Office Director

Graeme Williams
Hello! My name is Graeme Williams and I’m currently a 2nd year student majoring in AERO A and minoring in chemistry. Over the past year since I’ve become a CMAS member, after lots of convincing, I found myself to really appreciate CMAS and what CMAS has to offer to engineering students. CMAS does not only offer great opportunities to have fun and or network, but they also foster an extremely welcoming environment for anyone who stops by the office. This year I’ve spent more time in the office than I’m willing to admit, and I can attribute that to the office’s warm, clean, and welcoming environment. My goals with becoming Office Director is to continue to upkeep this kind of environment. This endeavour involves continuing to make sure the office stays clean throughout the year, making sure the office stays organized, and continuing good communication with office volunteers, all of which I would facilitate I were voted as Office Director. Additionally, this year I’ve noticed many members complain about the over abundance of mugs as well as bags/tubber ware containers left in the office, as part of my time as Office Director I would like to crackdown on this problem. If you like cleanliness and organization vote me for Office Director 2026-2027!
Publications Director

Carrick Gillespie
Hi, my name is Carrick! I am a second year mechanical engineering student running for Publications Director. I am currently Media for Engfrosh, and the office manager for SCEsoc. If elected as Publications Director, I plan on working closely with technical to improve the aesthetics of the website and keep it up to date with current CMAS events. I also plan on making new and improved visuals to reflect the new exec team. In addition, I want to push for higher quantity and quality photos and videos to improve the engagement of the CMAS social media pages. I also want to improve the communication on Discord in order to promote different events for the society. Furthermore, I hope to extend CMAS’s outreach and presence with additional social media platforms to better engage with the community and relevant industry. In doing so, my goal is to maximize the outreach of the society, thereby increasing involvement and introducing more people to the community of CMAS. Moreover, I want to improve all the visuals for the various social media posts to update the look and attract more people to our events and services. Overall, my goal is to improve the communication from within the CMAS team to our community and further resources and engagement for students.
I hope I can count on your vote to be Publications Director for the coming executive term.
P.S:
I GOT YOUR PICTURE, I’M COMING WITH YOU, DEAR MARIA COUNT ME IN

Alex Cameron
Hi, my name’s Alex and I love CMAS. As Publications Director, I hope to increase awareness for all CMAS events by creating fun and appealing videos, posters and posts. Additionally, I hope to ensure all meetings and events are publicized well in advance in order to encourage our lovely members participation. I’ve taken various art and tech design classes throughout high school, and as such I’m fluent with Canva, video editing, website design and anything else art related. Lastly, I hope to release bi-weekly videos showing off my favourite parts of the CMAS office, or what our other directors are up to in a similar style as the CENG Gong Show.
Technical Director

Amelia McBane
Hello! My name is Amelia McBane, I am a second year Aero A and am running to be your next Technical Director! I am the current Leo’s Lounge Tech and think that the obvious next step is to expand my reach to the society next door. My first and most important course of action would be to hire on a second technical to form a Tech Team (The 3D printers can’t hurt us if there are two of us). My next steps would then be to try and fix the 3D printers for the upcoming school year or to find a single, functional printer, to replace them. I would also like to keep the CMAS website working smoothly and consistently and to work closely with Publications and Events to keep an up-to-date calendar of everything going on in the society. I eat, sleep, and live in the 3300 block so I will be around to protect the CMAS members if the 3D printers ever decide to rebel. Vote for me for Technical 🙂

Coll Roscoe
Election time again! Yippee! Time to write more campaign stuff that you will not read. I am currently the technical director for the society and am once again running for the position. If elected, I will extend the CMAS office space using galvanized square steel and grandma’s wood veneer, in order to install a double decker couch for more napping space. I will also extend the CMAS train line into the quad office to promote more intersociety connection. On a more serious note, I would like to rebuild the CMAS website to be more functional and easier to work with. I was planning on fixing it this year, but after consulting with previous technical we decided it would be better to rebuild the website from scratch. Additionally I would like to sell the current unreliable 3d printers and replace them with one good reliable one that has more capabilities. I will also hire more people to help balance the workload that comes with being technical and help bring more people into the engineering community.
Third Year Representative

AJ Kieser
Hello! My name is AJ and I’m running for CMAS Third Year Representative! Having also been Second Year Rep and First Year Rep for CMAS, I believe that I am the most qualified individual to hold this position. I have worked on the CMAS Resource Library and Committee of Representatives (also known as Repmmittee) for the past two years, and my goal is to continue to refine the responsibilities of 3rd Year Rep and all Year Representatives to ensure that we are representing CMAS consistently to the best of our abilities. One goal of mine is to broaden the responsibilities of Repmmittee beyond advertising and running events. I believe that we should be responsible for overseeing and continuously improving upon the Resource Library year to year so that it does not become out of date, as well as being the first point of contact between our respective classes and the society. Ensuring that I have a connection with my classmates and that they feel comfortable approaching me with matters related to CMAS is paramount. Moreover, if I am elected, I will be running Bird Walk Two: Electric Boogaloo.
